Statement

Clee is a Sheffield-based artist with Yorkshire Artspace. Her work includes place-responsive sculptural installations using steel wire, which she welds or weaves intuitively into raw, ethereal forms. Other media, such as sound and movement, as well as salvaged objects and previously fabricated dismantled work, are sometimes incorporated, as a way of connecting concepts across time and space. Her body is also integral to her work, as she intimately connects with objects through the long and laborious manipulation of threads; sometimes performatively becoming herself a sculptural part of the work. Through these processes, Clee attempts to give voice to themes of otherness, in-betweenness and intersectionality.

Clee is a member of the Royal Society of Sculptors.
